Garage Concrete Sealing in Gnangara

We are always expanding and growing as a business, and this opportunity to use some of our new equipment was right up our alley for this project. We carried out garage concrete sealing in Gnangara at The Green Retirement Village.

The client was about to move into a new residential build and wanted to ensure the longevity of the garage slab and surrounding areas. We co-ordinated with the client and came through after hand over but before the client had moved in.

The concrete slab, although brand new, needed to be pressure washed with an industrial pressure cleaner which we had purchased for this exact purpose. After pressure washing, the slab needed to dry out completely so the application of the sealant could chemical cure to manufacturers warranty standards.

For this we needed to utilise an oil based sealer, as the garage door will be left open in intervals, and it is UV stable, as opposed to a run of the mill epoxy.

The application technique of the sealant is important because the thickness and consistency throughout the space needs to be uniform. A few hours after doing the first layer and letting it dry, the next layer was applied and it was left to sit overnight to completely cure and finish drying out.

The next day we came in and taped up the join of the newly sealed slab and the surrounding concrete structures, it was colour matched, and a silicone sealant was used with backing rod to infill the joins. The desired outcome came to fruition and was a great success, with both the client and ourselves very happy.

The first two photos are of the preparation of the concrete, the third and forth are of the sealant all finished and cured and the others are showing the sealant we can put around the brick joins.
