AMS Seal recently completed a commercial waterproofing in Landsdale project for Pirone Builders, focusing on the perimeter of a commercial unit where long-term moisture protection was critical.
Perimeter waterproofing plays a vital role in protecting building structures from water ingress, particularly in commercial environments where durability and compliance are essential.
The scope of works involved a carefully planned and methodical waterproofing system to ensure optimal adhesion and long-term performance. Prior to applying any membrane, all walls were thoroughly scraped to remove excess concrete slurry and surface build-up. This step is essential to create a clean, sound substrate suitable for waterproofing application.
Once scraping was complete, the area was blown out to remove sand and contaminants before pressure cleaning the walls and extending 100mm onto the floor surface. Excess water was then blown out along the full length of the building to ensure the surfaces were suitably dry prior to sealing works.
Joint preparation and sealing formed a key part of the process. Joints up to 2.8 linear metres by seven locations were resealed, along with an additional 2.2 linear metre joint between the tilt panel and the retainer wall. Proper joint sealing is critical in preventing water penetration at movement points within the structure.
Following preparation, a two-coat application of Gripset 51 membrane was applied, extending 900mm up the wall and 100mm onto the footing. This system provides a flexible, high-performance waterproof barrier designed to accommodate structural movement while delivering reliable moisture protection.
Although this project incorporated limited use of AMSPW, the completed waterproofing system delivered a robust, compliant solution tailored to the site’s requirements. Final photos captured the completed works, highlighting a clean, consistent finish across the entire perimeter.
